Privacy Policy

How My Barber Expo handles your information across the barber app, the client app, and this website.

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Your account

You sign in with your phone number, verified by a one-time passcode (OTP) through Google Firebase. With your account we store:

  • Your phone number, name, and an optional email address
  • Your profile photo, if you add one
  • Your role (client or barber) and your timezone
  • Your preferences and settings

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your card numbers. Barber payouts are handled through Stripe Connect, and Stripe manages the related identity and KYC verification.

We keep transaction records — amounts, fees, refunds, and disputes — because we are required to for financial and legal compliance.

Photos and media

Images you upload — profile pictures, portfolios, and service galleries — are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS S3), automatically screened for inappropriate content (AWS Rekognition), and delivered through a content delivery network (CDN).

Location

Barbers publish their shop location so clients can find them. Changes to a shop’s location are rate-limited and audited to keep listings accurate and trustworthy.

Notifications

We send push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging, and store a notification token for each of your devices. Marketing messages are only sent with your recorded consent — you choose this when you sign up, and you can change it at any time.

Walk-in clients registered by a barber

A barber may register a client’s name and phone number on their behalf to record an in-shop visit. That information is used to keep the client’s booking history and, based on the barber relationship, to invite them to the app.

When that person first signs in with their phone number, they take ownership of the account and can edit or remove the information, with the same rights as anyone else. If you believe you were registered in error, contact us at hello@mybarberexpo.com and we will remove it.

Security & logging

Our system logs are designed to redact personal information — phone numbers, emails, and tokens are masked. We use trusted infrastructure and reasonable safeguards to protect your data in transit and at rest.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers that make the platform work:

  • Stripe — payments and payouts
  • Amazon Web Services — storage and content delivery
  • Google Firebase — sign-in and push notifications

We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety and security of our users and the platform.

Your rights & contact

You can access and update most of your information directly in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it. To delete your account, see our account-deletion policy.

For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@mybarberexpo.com.

This page is a plain-English summary to help you understand how My Barber Expo works. It is provided for general information and is not legal advice. If anything is unclear, or you need help with a specific booking, email us at hello@mybarberexpo.com.

Your app always shows the exact terms that apply to a specific booking — including your barber’s own policy — before you confirm it and on your booking details.
